What is Woodland Learning?
Woodland Learning aims to help children connect with the natural environment to improve well being. Woodland Learning works with children of all ages and abilities to share the wonders of woodland wildlife, woodland crafts and woodland management through fun, hands-on activities and training.
Youlgrave staff in partnership with Thornbridge Outdoor Learning Centre and funding from YASSA have put together termly activities that incorporate all the wonders of being outdoors that all pupils from Reception to Year six can get involved in and work together to promote teambuilding, cooperation and an appreciation of the natural environment.
The whole school had a fantastic time exploring Bradford Dale, collecting natural materials for a woodland treasure hunt, creating journey sticks, analysing leaves and making collages.
