The ‘timetable’ for this week’s teaching and learning is as follows
- Day 1 – Today watch Simms Taback’s telling of The House that Jack Built and encourage children to use describing words (adjectives) to give more information about the animals and objects in the story.
- Day 2 – Today re-watch The House that Jack Built. Read the information on how the conjunctions but and and are used to link independent clauses. Children compose sentences of their own about food using the two conjunctions, but and and.
- Day 3 – Watch The House that Jack Built for a final time. The aim today is for children to use because as a conjunction joining independent clauses before then completing their sentence writing exercises.
- Day 4 – Today read the humorous poem ‘Twas Midnight. Remind children what a rhyming word is before they begin their writing exercises - words that sound the same such as cheese and peas.
