PE and Sports Premium Funding
P.E. and Sports Premium Funding:
Youlgrave School encourages healthy lifestyles through participation in PE and sport.
The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games inspired the nation to enjoy sport. The government aims to secure a significant and lasting legacy from the games and to develop children’s enjoyment of sport and physical activity from an early age. For several years now funding has been jointly provided by the Department for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport and has seen £8,000 per primary school plus £5.00 per pupil on roll going directly to head teachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. In October 2017 the funding was doubled, so now each primary school will receive £16,000 plus £10 per pupil. The report below outlines how we are going to spend this money and the impact it will have on all our children.
At Youlgrave we have been committed to strong and high quality PE and sport provision. It is a very important part of school life:
Improves levels of fitness and stamina
Offers a sense of self-worth and belonging
Teaches children to work as part of a team
Allows all children the opportunity to enjoy and achieve, be healthy, stay safe and make a positive contribution and economic wellbeing

Other Sources of Funding:
Youlgrave, All Saints' is a Voluntary Aided (VA) church school, which in terms of funding and resources means that while the running costs are met by the state, the Governing Body has to make a contribution towards major capital works. Either way, we are enormously grateful for the extra support from the fundraising activities of Youlgrave School Association and also the contribution of the Friends of Youlgrave School.
