Year 6 Trip to the Bowling Green

Thank you to Mrs. Sansom and Mrs. Travers for allowing us to use the bowling green and for their time coaching the children. The bowling green is a wonderful facility within the village and a great link helping us to diversify the sports on offer in school.

Sports Day June 2023

Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended our annual sports day and cheered and clapped with such encouragement. We had the most amazing afternoon and the children were outstanding. They raced, hula-hooped, jumped, threw and competed and supported each other, whilst having the best fun! The Year 6s looked spectacular as they competed in their fun run and the parents' race was epic! Many thanks to all the helpers and volunteers, including school staff, who helped to make the event the success that it was.

Y6 Sporting Treat 19.05.23

Class 3's cricketers took the local cluster cricket tournament to a tense final at Youlgrave playing field. After some well placed batting shots and some excellent fielding skills, we managed to win! Well done Class 3!

Cricket festival 18.05.23

Atlantic Ocean Class (Class 2) took part in a fabulous multi-skills festival on Thursday 27th April. Sports and activities included Tai Chi, rounders, athletics, golf and tennis. We had a great time!

Out of 21 teams, Class 2 were placed second in our local schools' dodgeball tournament. We are all so proud of their conduct, as well as their achievements.

Tag Rugby Champions 2022

Class 3 battled really hard through a rain swept (sometimes torrential!) afternoon to secure the title of Small Schools' Tag Rugby champions. It was a proud moment for all involved and one which showed off the hard work  the children had put into their PE lessons this term. Their effort, camaraderie and sporting conduct was outstanding.

Inter-House Hula Hooping 20.10.22

Our annual House Hula-Hooping championship was a closely fought battle, once again, this year. All of the children took part and it was delightful to see them enjoying the fun of it all. After some seriously good hula-hooping, with demonstrations of resilience and determination by all involved, Lathkill were declared the winners! Unfortunately, our photos wont upload to the website! Grrr!

National Fitness Day 21.09.22

To kickstart our new term at school, we took part in National Fitness Day. The day involved lots of physical activity inside the classroom, along with a whole school workout, a skipping routine and a fitness circuit.
