Race to the Frozen North- Chapter 1
Monday 6th January
Good morning everyone,
As today is a snow day, I have set you some activities to do. Firstly, there is a TTRS battle, that lasts all day. I have also added a link, below this, for you to access BBC website, all about time. I would like you to have a look at this and then create a timetable of your day.
It would be great if you could get onto Accelerated reader and take some quizzes for books you've read over the holidays (the link is below).
Finally, write a story. I would like this to be a Christmas, or winter/snowy based story, based around an adventure. Other than that, this is a free write. Show me what you can do!
I hope you all have a lovely day. See you soon,
Miss Hemmingway
Reading
Reading is a vital part of children's learning. It is so important that they are able to read a range of different texts. They can read chosen books from school, from the reading scheme or our class library. They are also able to choose books from home. Reading from home can also include newspapers, magazines and information books.
It is important they are reading fiction and non-fiction in different forms and are encouraged to read many different authors, including poetry books.
Below is a recommended list of books for year 5 and 6, some of which can be found in school.
Happy reading :)
